Guycan Plastics Limited is a Canadian manufacturer of custom and stock thermoformed plastic packaging based in Mississauga, Ontario. Founded in 2003, we have spent more than 20 years building the capabilities, systems, and expertise required to serve as a reliable packaging manufacturing partner for customers across North America.
Our Story
Built in Canada. Grown Through the Work.
Guycan Plastics Limited was founded in Brampton in 2003, building on more than four decades of experience in thermoforming.
Over the years, the company grew through several locations across the Greater Toronto Area before establishing its current manufacturing operation in Mississauga. What began as a small operation has developed into a 50,000+ sq. ft. facility supporting stock and custom thermoformed packaging, prototype development, tooling, production, warehousing, and more than 200 established products.
Through that growth, the company has remained family owned and closely involved in the work.
Our approach has always been practical: understand what the customer needs, determine the most sensible way to produce it, and build relationships by doing what we say we are going to do.
Why We Stayed in the GTA
Rooted Here. Connected Across North America.
Remaining in the Greater Toronto Area has been a deliberate decision.
The GTA places Guycan within one of Canada's most important manufacturing, transportation, and distribution networks. From our Mississauga operation, we are positioned to support customers across North America while keeping manufacturing, technical knowledge, suppliers, warehousing, and decision-making closely connected.
There is also pride in continuing to manufacture here.
This is where Guycan was built. It is where we continue to invest in equipment, people, processes, and manufacturing capability, and it is where we intend to maintain the core of our operation.
How We Work
Packaging Has to Do More Than Look Right.
More than four decades in thermoforming has taught us that packaging has to do much more than look right.
It has to form consistently. It has to protect the product. It has to work within the customer's operation. It has to meet the required specifications. And it has to make commercial sense to manufacture and supply.
Sometimes the right solution already exists within our product range. Sometimes an existing package can be adapted. Sometimes the requirement calls for something completely custom.
Our role is to help the customer determine which approach makes sense and then support that decision through development, tooling, production, warehousing, and ongoing supply.
Family Ownership
Ownership and Accountability Close to the Business.
Guycan remains family owned.
For us, that means ownership and accountability remain close to the business. The people responsible for the direction of the company are also responsible for its customers, its reputation, and the quality of what leaves the facility.
As Guycan has grown, we have tried to preserve that accessibility while continuing to build the systems and capabilities expected of an established manufacturer.
It should mean caring about what the company looks like five, ten, and twenty years from now.
We do not believe being family owned should mean thinking small.
Looking Ahead
The Next Stage of Guycan.
The next stage of Guycan is not simply about becoming larger. It is about becoming more valuable to the customers who depend on us.
Part of that means building greater economic resilience into the business.
Customers are operating in an environment where transportation costs, material markets, currency, tariffs, supply disruptions, and broader economic uncertainty can change quickly. No manufacturer can remove those risks entirely, but we can make deliberate choices that help us respond to them.
That means continuing to invest in Canadian manufacturing, maintaining strong supplier relationships, improving production efficiency, expanding internal capability, supporting inventory and warehousing requirements, and giving customers access to both established and custom packaging solutions.
For Guycan, sustainability and resilience are connected. Both are ultimately about using resources intelligently, reducing unnecessary dependency, and building a manufacturing operation that can continue serving customers reliably over the long term.
That is where we believe Guycan can continue to add value.
Where We Are Today
The Capabilities Are Important. They Are Not the Finish Line.
Today, Guycan Plastics Limited operates from a 50,000+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Mississauga with more than 200 established products, SQF-certified operations, stock and custom thermoforming capabilities, prototype development, tooling support, warehousing, and North America-wide customer reach.
Those capabilities are important, but they are not the finish line.
We are continuing to invest in what we can make, how efficiently we can make it, and how effectively we can support the companies that choose to work with us.
That is the part of the company we are most interested in building next.
